In August 2009 a Thai court denied the US extradition request of Viktor Bout, the Russian that is accused of supply weapons to the Farc, because that court did not consider the Colombian guerrilla a terrorist organization. However, a heavy US pressure over Thailand caused a new result: Bout is going to face an American court, even if Russia thinks that it is a political motivated decision.

The Inter-American Press Association (IAPA) asked to the US Embassy in Colombia to reconsider the visa grant to journalist Hollman Felipe Morris because its denial could put him in a state of vulnerability before antagonistic groups.
