It seems that the fiery speeches of some weeks ago are now history. Traders, especially from Colombia, are optimistic, while Colombian congressmen recommend prudence. Last week both governments declared that the two South American countries are again in full diplomatic and political relations. The words of president Hugo Chávez changed drastically to a more friendly speech, even saying that he does not matter if the rightist governs Colombia.

Santos after elections

President Barack Obama called Colombian elected president Juan Manuel Santos to congratulate his victory to the Nariño House. Obama manifested also his interest in strength the relations between both countries. At the same time, Santos is preparing what is going to be his government after August 7, meeting national personalities and reveling his perspectives over different issues of national concern.
