The proposal of the FARC guerrilla to the Union of South American Nations, UNASUR, to offer a dialog of peace was rejected by president Juan Manuel Santos. The communication of the insurgent group was published by Annacol, the official website of the armed group, where it is said that the Colombian government ‘closed any door to dialogue with the insurgency spurred on by the mirage of a military victory and Washington’s interference.’ Santos answered that the government wants that the guerrilla releases the hostages. The president said also that there is not the need of mediators.
The Colombian Police rescued a Japanese resident in Colombia, Masao Tustsui, 69, that was kidnapped allegedly by the FARC guerrilla last March 23, reported Caracol. The authorities said that Tustsui was kidnapped by criminals that were asking about 1,000 million pesos. As their claim was not successful, the criminals sold Tustsui to the guerrillas. The special police unit against kidnapping, Gaula, conducted the operation to rescue Tustsui this Sunday in an area between the municipalities of Florida (Valle del Cauca) and Miranda (Cauca). The report said that the Police battled the guerrillas. Tustsui joined his Colombian family in Cali and he was reported well.

The initiatives of peace of individuals or groups with the Colombian guerrillas that are not consulted with the government are not authorized, said Minister of Defense Rodrigo Rivera and he ordered the continuity of military operations against armed groups, according to Caracol Radio.

ABC Color, a Paraguayan newspaper, published two photographies showing president Fernando Lugo and the Venezuelan chancellor, Nicolás Maduro, with Adriano Muñoz, the brother of agronomist Zonia Ignacia Muñoz that is jailed for the kidnapping in 2008 of cattle rancher Luis Alberto Lindstron Picco. Adriano Maduro is hold by the authorities as one of the logistic managers of the ‘Army of the Paraguayan People‘ guerrilla (EPP), according with the newspaper.

3,972 Colombian facebookers have joined an invitation to participate in a march against the sue-attempt of politician Ingrid Betancourt against the Colombian state as responsible for her Farc kidnapping between 2002 and 2008. Her intention of what she called a ‘conciliation’ with the Colombian government, brought a spontaneous condemnation inside and outside Colombia from several sectors.

Juanes, Grammy best pop album "La vida es un ratico", dedicated to the hostages of the Farc guerrillas.
“La vida es un ratico” (The Life is Just a Moment), was the Juanes´ song to be awarded with the best pop album Grammy. The Colombian composer and singer dedicated it to the hostages of the Farc guerrilla. The Argentinian producer Gustavo Santaolalla received the Grammy in the name of Juanes. Santaolalla was the producer of the album and said in the event that Juanes inspired people as an artists and as a person.
Juanes could not be present at the ceremony, but he thanked through his official website. He manifested that he wanted to dedicate the recognition to all those persons who are in the forest far from freedom and the hope of all Colombians for their release.
The Mexican Jaguares got also the Grammy for the album “45″ of 45 minutes and he dedicated also the prize to the million of Mexicans who live in extreme poverty.

The former governor of the State of Meta, Alan Jara, was released by Farc, according to the promise of that guerrilla. Jara was kidnapped by Farc on 15th July 2001 when he was inaugurating a bridge in Lejanias town, Meta. He was with some members of the United Nations. He said that he had to cross for days the then demilitarized area of Caguán. Then, he was interviewed by Jorge Briceño Suárez, known as Mono Jojoy, who told him that he was in the list of politicians to be interchange with the government. Jara said in his first press conference that it is urgent to follow a humanitarian interchange in order to get the release of all hostages.

Colombians wait that this coming Sunday the Farc guerrillas will release six of the hostages according to their promise on 21rst of December. “We wait to know that six of those persons hold by the guerrilla, are free. It is like they belong to our own family“, said a mother of family in Medellín.
At the same time, the government of president Álvaro Uribe announced in Switzerland that if Farc demobilizes, free all the hostages and enter into civil life, they will have guaranteed on freedom and recompense.

Farc guerrillas said that in two or three weeks more will confirm the release of some hostages and give their location. The insurgent group gave the communicate through the director of the weekly Voz, Carlos Lozano. Farc said that it will be done as soon as it is clear the conformation of the humanitarian commission to receive the hostages.
