Japan improved its advisory over visits to Colombia, according to the official site Colombia is passion! Six Colombian states were scored number One by the Japanese government. It means that they are considered safe to visit by Japanese tourists: Atlántico, Cundinamarca, Santander, Sucre, Boyacá, Bolívar and Risaralda.
Japan, as many other countries, publishes reviews on safety over countries like Colombia that are frequently considered risky by international standards. It includes safe and unsafe places that Japanese tourists must consider before visiting.
Last year, Japan put in its advisory risk 17 Colombian states as unsafe for visitors. This month, the Asian country put only six states as fully dangerous to visit. The Japanese map on Colombia shows places that can be visited without any fear. The improvement in security as it is seem by the Japanese government was celebrated by Luis Guillermo Plata, Minister of Commerce and Tourism of Colombia.
He said to Colombia is passion, a site that works in the promotion of the Colombian image in the world, that the evaluation of Japan is a test for the improvement of security in Colombia, especially for foreign visitors. Plata said also that international business is included in those activities that can be done safely in his country.
Last year, the Ministry of Foreign Relations of Japan put the 53 percent of the Colombian territory as a high risky to be visited. This year the unsafe areas, according with Japan, made only 18 percent.
Atlántico, Cundinamarca, Santander, Sucre, Boyacá, Bolívar and Risaralda were scored as the most safely states of Colombian this year. Cities that got a best score also were Bogotá, San Andrés, Leticia, Medellín, Manizales and Armenia.
Huila, Cauca, Caquetá, Casanare, Chocó, North of Santander, Valle del Cauca (no Buenaventura city), Vichada, La Guajira and Risaralda, improved their security.
At the other side, the states that Japanese tourists should not visit, according to the official advisory of their country, are Amazons (though Leticia city, its provincial capital, has a good score), Caldas, Quindío, Guainía, Córdoba, Cesar, Tolima, Vaupes and Magdalena.
